Errol Morris



Roger Ebert has said, "After twenty years of reviewing films, I haven't found another filmmaker who intrigues me more...Errol Morris is like a magician, and as great a filmmaker as Hitchcock or Fellini.

"Quirky! The Hidden Truth! Strange!
These words all describe the films of Errol Morris.

My first exposure to his nimble sense of the "REAL" was "Vernon Florida", an expose of the ordinary peoples that fill the landscape of a tiny north Florida hamlet of the same name. I was drawn by the fact that Vernon lies just twenty minutes from my own front door. After watching his images, I was struck that all the people I INTERACTED WITH ON A DAILY BASIS WERE VERY MUCH LIKE THOSE THAT HE POINTED HIS CAMERA AT! This stuff should not be missed.
