What's An Ocean Opry? Finally Don Williams.

Don Williams has always been one of my favorite country singers. His fabulously soothing voice and mild manner has always capitavatied me like anything confortable will do. His playlist is a who's sho of country standards. "Good Ole Boys Like Me, Amanda. Tulsa Tme, just to mention a few.

But to answer the first question first, an Ocean Opry is a little local theater on Panama City Beach ran by a family of singers and pickers, The Rader Family. I remember the TV spots on Channel 7 in the early 1970s, but had never gone to a concert there, until. . .Don Williams came to town.

And what a performance. Every nickel spent well to see Don croon the microphone and watch the audience all around me mouthing the words as he sang. My only regret was I hadn't brought along my camera. I had assumed that "picture-taking" would not have been allowed. I missed a great chance to get some nice pictures. Well maybe the next time he is in town, I'll bring along the Brownie. Truth is pictures can't do a voice like that any justice, anyhow!
