1200 Mile Weekend Trip to Pickup My Latest Ebay Win!

"You bought WHAT on ebay?" my wife modulated with a voice like the teacher on the old Peanuts TV specials..
"An Antique Library Card Catalog.," I replied with the seriousness of a dog swimming in icewater.

We did meet a very nice couple the Hoopers who we bought the card catalog from. She works at the local library and he makes and sells duck calls on ebay.

Chrismas (Scratch) Winter Break

That time again. Though this year there are ideological differences in what we call it. Anyway, we are heading to the North Carolina mountains; Sparta NC to be exact for a little R & R. Sparta is a sleeply little farming town near the Virgina border that touts no famous authors or anything else except quiet. The Dr. Glascow pipe factory is here. The Blue Ridge parkway is nearby. The hills around the town are beaming with Christmas trees. A nice place to visit....
